About After the Trailer

What the two-minute cut left out

Last updated August 13, 2026

After the Trailer publishes craft, on screen, streaming for readers who want the working version rather than the promotional one.

Our house style is sharp, craft-focused, spoiler-conscious. We would rather publish one piece that holds up than five that fill a schedule.

What we cover

The site is organised into 6 sections:

  • Craft — Editing, sound, lighting and the departments that never make the poster.
  • On Screen — Performance, structure and what a scene is doing while you watch it.
  • Streaming — Platforms, release strategy and how distribution shapes what gets made.
  • Industry — Budgets, greenlights, labour and the economics behind a slate.
  • Series — Season shape, pacing and the particular problems of television.
  • Archive — Older films, restorations and the long tail nobody is marketing.

Who writes it

Every article carries a named writer with a profile page, and nothing is published anonymously. You can see the full list on our writers page.

How it is funded

After the Trailer is funded by advertising. Advertisers have no sight of, and no influence over, what we publish — the wall between the two is described in full in our editorial policy.

Who publishes it

After the Trailer is published by Second Reel Media, a sole proprietorship of Ajay Bhatia, 65, Sector 8, Karnal, Haryana, 132001, India. Telephone: +91 99113 25840.

Corrections

We correct errors of fact promptly and visibly. If you spot one, tell us — see the corrections section of our editorial policy for what happens next.
